today released its sixth annual “Allstate America’s Best Drivers Report(TM).” The report ranks America’s 200 largest cities in terms of car collision frequency to identify which cities have the safest drivers according to Allstate data.

In the 2010 report, Milwaukee ranks as one of the safest driving cities, landing at number 42 on the list. According to the report, the average driver in Milwaukee will experience an auto collision every 10.6 years.

Police said they have not yet determined whether a man who was discovered dead this week in a Little Neck shopping center’s underground parking lot had been murdered or died from a medical condition, but nearby store owners described a bizarre scenario.

The man, whose identity and age have not yet been released, had been sleeping in his car and died while attempting to leave the lot, crashing into a wall, said workers at the shopping center at 248-25 Northern Blvd. in Little Neck near the Bayside border.

The Allstate Best Drivers Report ranks cities by car collision frequency.

But before Cowtown motorists strain a muscle trying to pat themselves on the back, it may be helpful to note that, as a region, Dallas-Fort Worth didn’t fare very well in the Allstate report.

Chicago is one of the easiest places in the country to get into a car accident, according to a report by Allstate Insurance.

Out of almost 200 U.S. cities, Chicago ranked 167th in safety, just slightly better than its rank of 170 last year, Allstate said today. The Northbrook-based insurer found that the average Chicago driver will have an auto collision every 7.6 years.
