Fort Worth drivers are the best

If you spend anytime on Interstate 35W, or I-30, or Loop 820 or Airport Freeway you may disagree with this, but …
Fort Worth residents are the safest drivers in North Texas, according to a report issued Thursday.
The Allstate Best Drivers Report ranks cities by car collision frequency.
But before Cowtown motorists strain a muscle trying to pat themselves on the back, it may be helpful to note that, as a region, Dallas-Fort Worth didn’t fare very well in the Allstate report.
Sure, Fort Worth was judged the safest city in the North Texas region — but was no better than the 140th safest city nationwide. Fort Collins, Colo. was Numero Uno.
Ranked below Fort Worth in the Metroplex were Plano (155th), Grand Prairie (157th), Carrollton (168th), Mesquite (172nd), Dallas (173rd), Arlington (175th), Irving (176 th) and Garland (181).
Who would’ve guessed that Garland, believed to be the model for the fictitious town of Arlen in the television show King of the Hill , would have such a dubious title. As Hank Hill might put it, “That ain’t right.”
Allstate has issued the report annually for the past six years, using an in-house analysis of accident claims.
