What is Health Insurance?

It is a contract between the Insurer & the Insured wherein the former agrees to pay to the latter hospitalization expenses to the extent of an agreed sum assured in the event of any medical treatment out of an illness or an injury. In the nutshell the Health Insurance is a policy which covers you & your family against medical expenses due to sickness, accident etc. The Insured in return has to pay a regular premium to the insurer.

Americans are reporting concern about how financially protected their families are, according to a new survey of over 1,000 adults aged 30 and older conducted by Ipsos Public Affairs. The survey was released today and sponsored by New York Life Insurance Company.

Thinking about any savings accounts, emergency funds, or life insurance coverage they may have, the majority, 53%, report that they are financially under-protected, with one in five (19%) believing they are severely under-protected. Just 46% describe their family as being protected when it comes to their finances, the survey revealed.

This matter is before the Court on the third motion of interpleader defendants Juanita Sanders and Johnnie McKinley, Jr. (”the Movants”) for default judgment against defendant Johnnie McKinley, Sr. (”Senior”). (Trinidad Guardian) People who had short-term investments with Colonial Life Insurance Company (Trinidad) Ltd (Clico) and British American Insurance Company Ltd, where the principal balance was TT$75,000 and over, will have their transactions processed from December 1. The Ministry of Finance, in announcing via notices in today’s daily newspapers that it will begin processing payments from December 1, 2011, to February 27, 2012, going in alphabetical order. The ministry said that cash payments would be made within seven working days of investors’ acceptance of Government’s offer.
